Web developers/coders unite.. I think you're talking about forum skins yeah? I have seen some variations on other sites, black is a popular choice for backgrounds. Interesting idea, you might try getting in touch with the admin about any new skin ideas you have. Make sure you have permission from higher ups before having a competition/contest of sorts. Sounds fun if it's okay. I know there's a lot of artistic talent here and they could have some great ideas to pitch in potentially too.

    Great idea itchie!

Funny, about a week or two ago I was thinking "DrumChat could sure use a logo change".
Maybe if we appeal to the admins we could have a sweet contest!
As long as the right rules are applied and such of course.

I think an option (like under the User CP) of 3 different color schemes or a color swatch, that could be a bit more appealing to each individuals personality.

Just my 2 cents. And as Russ said, there is tons of great talent for this kind of stuff on DC.

It is dated but the scheme here is easy on the eyes to me. I like it. Some sites/forums are really difficult to read b/c of the high contrast of their color choices.

Well, at least we're not trying to read light blue on magenta, that'd really do your eyes in, hey? :P

Agree. Some like black background but that can really wear on the eyes after a while

    Guys...
There's a handful of posts about the new look. It seems some love the changes and others don't. As usual, it's going to be hard to please everyone. I like it myself but I know they're not through with everything yet. I talked to admin today and they're still working out issues with plug-in compatibility. Only the computer guys could really appreciate this but it's not as simple as just adding random stuff and hitting the 'go' button. There are always issues behind the scenes that take time to work out.

There's one more thing I can speak to without having the understanding of 'all things admin': This is a responsive forum that was designed for this particular version of Vbulletin so it's not as easy as just picking any skin out there and plugging it in. Again, there are lots of considerations and compatibility concerns that go on behind the scenes.

I'm sure, in time, all of this will be worked out. In the meantime, enjoy the FREE forum.

Yeah, very funny. Highlights one thing though......careful what you wish for. Look at the mess this has become. As Drummer said, some like it. I think the take away is that MOST seem to not like it. Free or not, this is a mess but it looks like the toothpaste is out of the tube on this one. It's too bad really.
