    whats funny is I sell cabinets in my world now...and Hickory cabinet doors are much heavier than Oak..density thing...so it must have to do with the vibration suppression that separates the two wood specie that may be the root to fatique! I use hickory sticks!

    Oak sticks last longer but they are stiffer and do transmit vibrations. you adjust. I use ProMark Oak, nylon tip 707s.

    No pain.

    the one time I had elbow pain from playing a drumset, I had inadvertently set a crash cymbal @ 1" further away than I normally did. I was hitting the cymbal with my elbow locked to get at the cymbal. I moved the cymbal in, no more pain because my elbow never straightened out to a 180 degree angle. It was at @ 160-70 degrees, not straight.
