Yeah, someone sent me that one a lil' while back. Classic Cosby. And he is actually a pretty good jazz drummer. I think he was friends with Max Roach, if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah seen it years ago funny man. He always had a knack for telling stories and making fun of it too.
I saw this long ago but just watched the whole thing again. Man, he's funny! He's got a way of telling it that makes it flow and climax and hit the punchline just right! He would have been a master musician.
Had no idea he was into jazz drumming.. Thanks for the post, I learned a bit watching that.

Yes Bill has endless hidden talents that we don't know about. I allways loved the way he could communicate with children and make fun out of it. Love the man.
Of course nothing remotely like that has ever happened to any of us!
Yeah right.
Thanks for posting that!
This is a track from an album I have. I don't think he does any drumming on this one, but the vocals are, ummm, interesting at times The album is "Hooray for the Salvation Army Band".

So today I was thinking...I should post that video of Bill Cosby talking about the time Max Roach bailed him out when he (Cosby) tried to play a song above his pay grade. Not wanting to start a duplicate thread I used the search function to see if anyone had posted it yet.
I found the video here and apparently my memory ain't what it used to be.
The funny thing is that back in the '70's, I saw something similar happen at a jam in NYC. The song being played was "A Night in Tunisia", which, while not super fast, went on for about 20-25 minutes and the drummer just ran out of steam.
