It'll be satisfying to bring them back to a respectable state. Not going for perfect, you can't undo what's done. No matter how I patch and fill, they've been molested. But they'll be made into nice players. I've got a similar 16" and the 10/13/22 were only $100.00....

Few upgrades for me. New Snare: MAPEX BLACK PANTHER 14"X6.5" Thomann edition. Got Zultan Aja 10" splash, 14" Wuhan china, and another 21" Sabian Sr2 Thin. Changed my 13" tom to 12". But stll, most fun playing is with simple hi hat and 1 crash/ride set up.

Don't blame you, I would have snatched those up as well for that price. You could always just make a cover plate for a virgin bass drum. Or, maybe a standard Pearl BB3 double bass mount would still cover everything on the outside. Add a reinforcement plate on the inside and no one will ever know. Either way, it will make a nice sounding/looking set that you won't have to be worried about playing.

    Play the SONG......not the DRUMS!!!

"I think that feeling is a lot more important than technique. It's all very well doing a triple paradiddle - but who's going to know you've done it? If you play technically you sound like everybody else. It's being original that counts." ~ John Bonham

Nice set of DWs ... love the finish. Ignore the Luddies ... nawww, huh? I would have a hard time ignoring that Ludwig kit no matter how many other kits were in the room ...

I rack mount the kit sometimes. The 14" 3ply is light enough, as resonates better off of the legs, that it works well rack mounted too.

I was wondering if any of you drummers out there with rackmounts sometimes switch up your setup when not using rack?

No. I setup my kits the same with or without a rack. Your kit looks much better on stands, than the way you have it on that rack.
