myk and Animaldrums9585: thanks, guys. I'll get a brighter picture of it.
MartyM: it is actually a lemur. the ugliest one in existence, maybe. it has nothing to do with band name. i just like it. the animal is called Aye-Aye. the drawing is from a guy named Joseph Wolf, made in 1863 and it's exposed in the London History Museum. i bought from them and had it printed into the dumhead.
Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind.
I have A Ludwig Centennial Moby series, 26'' 13'' 14'' 16'' 18'', but I'm still waiting on mounts to come up for sale to mount the 13'' and 14''. I just recently Bought an Old Bollero. 13''16'' 22'' I have what I believe to be an old Rogers kit which looks like somebody recovered in counter top vinyl. But I guess I'll have to figure out how to post pics, kinda new at this.
Picked this Bad Boy up about 10 years ago. It's perfect for playing in those "small venues" where space is extremely limited. Easy to carry in and set up as well...

Forgive me if you've seen this, but it seems timely:
Some pics taken from the Saturday just gone at Morecambe, England.
You like your toms tuned low!
Not too low, just a step lower than they "usually" are.
I don't see how a 12" or 13" tom needs to sound like a conga.
I was just saying cause you can see wrinkles in the heads.
Enjoy the Music!

Needs another bass drum
LOL! Love that video of the guy playing the toy set. I bought my set for my youngest son when he was about 4 or 5, but he never really took to it. I've thought about doing some work to it so it sounds more like real drums, then maybe take it to a gig sometime for laughs. The other guys could play Ukes in lieu of guitars.
Whats Interesting about the First Act drums (i.e. WalMart & Toys-R-Us); Our Bass player actually bought a full sized First Act drum set (5 pc. shell pack)at a garage sale. He set it up at his house where we practice and I actually used it for over a year since I didn't have my own drums. I installed new Pinstripe heads and tuned it up....and it actually sounded good. I'm not a heavy hitter, but I do get carried away occasionally. It has never had any issues or problems. He then bought a cheap TKO set, thinking it would be an upgrade, but it's complete garbage. Sounds terrible, I can't get it in tune and the lugs and hardware all broke. I would have no problem using the First Act set for a gig if I had to. I would probably pull all the name tags off it first and replace the front bass head first, however.

Just realised I hadn't posted my RIMS Purecussion Headset on this thread:
So okay, there are no pretty wood tom and bass drum shells to show off. But you got to admit that the best thing about it is it's portability:
You can literally walk into a place in one go with a full kit with the cymbal case and snare case (with the seat inside and on top of your snare) slung over your shoulders whilst the red tool box holds my bass drum pedal, hi-hat stand, snare stand, seat stand, a separate ride or crash stand, a couple of clamps and boom arms and some sticks, rods, brushes etc.

The line between the real world and the machine world is becoming more and more blurred every day.But its not that humans are turning into automations or becoming slaves to the machines. No, we're simply growing toward each other!

Like football, it really is a game of inches getting everything situated just right, isn't it? I'm still tweaking and probably always will be. I think I enjoy playing with the configuration as much as playing the kit (well, almost). Changing clamps, arms, cymbal angles, axes, etc. Almost like building Legos as a kid.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy and please feel free to critique my setup. I'm always trying to learn new and better ways of arranging things.
Best,
Mark
