Nice set there N2. Is that silver sparkle or just silver? It appears kinda muted. I wouldn't mind silver sparkle myself reminiscent of the 60's era Ludwig sets.

Love the sizes and configurations of your set. I pretty much feel the same way. Although my bass is a conversion, it's the 18" and just feels natural and perfect to me. A week ago, back in Canada, I had occasion to pull out my 24" and it just seemed way weird. I've always said that 18 makes a better bass than a floor.

I hear you as well concerning the 8 tom as opposed to the 10.

    all the best...

It's actually a sparkle, but it's very fine and dense. It's actually really cool when viewed straight on or at a slight angle. For some reason, it just looks rather flat & dull grey from out in front. I guess it's due to the small particles and their orientation. It would be better if it was red, blue, green, etc.....anything but grey.

Missed this one. To me, this kit DEFINES what a drum set should look like. Of course, I play a white pearl one up, two down kit, too. Am I biased? You bet.

Recognizing you have a bias is the first step to accepting all configurations as equal. You're on your way my friend.

    Proudly playing:
    Doc Sweeney Drums
    A bunch of snares
    A bunch of cymbals

    Off-Set double pedals

I think I love to play the drums simply because you get to hit 'em!!!

On my way? Johnny, I'm an old coot. If one still isn't sure about things at my age, there's just no hope! I used to change my opinions as often as I changed my underwear. Now, I don't change my opinions OR my underwear.

I've been playing for awhile and I always wanted to check out REMOTE HI HATS. Last Friday I got one(pearl). I'll see how it goes.I will use it occasionally on my various sets.

I'm with ya brotha! I get a lot of mileage out of this kit. Yamaha Manu Katche 10/13/16". Great sounding, easy tuning. They've out lasted a lot of much more expensive and exotic drums. And, they fit in my early Miata! Have several gigs that request I bring them......

I just used my iPhone and loaded the pics on to the DC site. I'm not sure why the pictures show up so large.
