Depends on where you live. Donavan lives in Cairns. May be the going rate there.

That's a different setup, but I like sets arranged differently.

Cairns is in Australia, so yeah that's a pretty standard sounding price here unfortunately...

Updated config. Still not 100% comfortable with where the rotos/deccabons are, but it's getting there. I might need individual tom arms to hold the deccabons. I'd like to stack them in 2x2, not sure exactly where yet though. They'll probably take the place of the rototoms, but I need those too. My 2nd band likes playing a lot of old Maiden and those work great for it.

This really makes me want another DW and esp. a white kit. I think I'd put white heads on the front like I've seen in other pictures, though. I have blacks on all my other kits.

Very nice setup you have pictured.

These are my PDP cx drums. I have meinl byzance hihats, a meinl byzance 18" crash, and a Zildjian custom A ride. I recently condensed my set up a bit just because I felt like going minimal. When in its full form, it has 4 rack toms and quite a few more cymbals. But I like this better honestly.

That is a very nice wrap, looks vintage, maybe take the rim mount off to show it off more,a white reso on your bass would look killer. Nice kit

Yes indeed it is, and it's what I've used to mount that drum (and a few others) for years now. I just set it up this way about a month ago, so until I'm committed to it, I'm leaving it on in case I want to switch back to mounting it from the bass drum.

Wow....are you using a short cable hi-hat? Sorry it's a bit hard to see in the pictures....you got any specs on the hi-hat stand, brand, etc? I've a DW cable hi-hat that I'll use pretty occasionally, I'd just wish DW could make a short cable version, as I know how comfortable that Bill Bruford type of set up is, it's just that a short cable hi-hat would make it easier to set up and mess around with. I know Tama stopped making one years back (which would have been a pain for Bruford when was touring, for sure).

Slit drummers unite! Yes, I got into using one courtesy of being a Bruford nut as well, however later on I also got into a few alternate groups that would use such percussion on a few tunes here and there. Not Drowning, Waving from Australia was one such group, they also did an album working with musicians from PNG (Papua New Guinea).

Recorded and filmed a live album yesterday. I didn't use my bass drum and toms, but still used my cymbals and snare. The music is a combination of John Mayer with Buble's voice so my big ol' drums weren't going to work (those DW's would have been perfect for it, rats! haha)

Sidenote, I'm obsessed with the Acrolite. This snare does everything and very well. Sometimes I had it absolutely reefed, tuned as tight as it would go. Sometimes I would have it in the middle for that mid-range crack which was golden. I also tuned it waaaaay low for a song and it sounded as trashy and beautiful as a snare could. I love that thing.
    Kits:
    -C&C Player Date 13/16/22
    -65' Ludwig Super Classic 13/16/22

    Snares:
-DW Nickel Over Brass 6.5x14 snare
-Ludwig Black Galaxy Acrolite 5x14 snare
-Ludwig 65' Super Classic 5x14 snare
    -Ludwig 64' Pioneer 5x14 snare
-PDP Classic Wood hoop 6x14 snare

    Rides:
    -Zildjian 22" Constantinople
    -Zildjian 22" Kerope
    -Zildjian 20" Constantinople
    Hats:
-17" A Medium crash over K custom dark crash

    -DW 9000 pedals

That sounds like an awesome sound combo for some music. Do you have any youtube vids or links where I can check some out?

Everything was done yesterday so it'll be a month-ish before the tunes are edited/mix/mastered, but as soon as those are done, the video guy will be able to get to making the videos so in around a month or two they should be ready to view!
