Played my first gig with the converted 18" Manhattan kick. Choices in 18" heads were limited off the shelf. I was fortunate to fine a coated Ambassador and clear Emperor. Sounds much more like a floor tom now. I found a small pallet that gave me enough lift. I actually had to lower the spurs to provide more tilt and keep me from getting rim. I LOVE THIS SET UP. Oh my having a FT on my left gives me so many options. It does affect the placement of a side snare but I will figure that out.

It was also my first "loud" gig with the Kickport. Unbelivable sound. Best kick sound I have ever had, bar none. It's not even close. The guys in the band were blown away. I went our front and I could see the reso head making lengthy rebounds like watching a huge speaker in slo-mo. It matched the long low sound this was providing. Crazy good.

my new "silent kit" to keep the parents happy

he only problem was that they gave me plastic cymbals and they were a bit loud especially for using them as hats so i use the 8" as the hats because i only use a 1 up 1 down set up on my normal kit now

Been idle for a long time and decided to get back into it.
Mines kinda like a frankenstien for now, but will be going to all Pearls as time and funds allow. 11 piece as present, with double bass, 8X8 tom up to 16X16 floor tom. 6 cymbals plus hi hats. All Sabian except for 2 no names. Would like some help on heads, as some of mine are pretty beat. Some one tell me how to post a pic on here and I'll put it up. Thanks.

COOL! For pics, use a 3rd party site and post as an image. I use Photobucket personally.

Here is the most recent Shots of my Pearl Vision VSX kit with Strata White wrap. And the cymbals I decide to use for a multi-genre' gig. This gig was a wedding in Golden, Colorado where we played a combination of Jazz, Jazz Rock, Oldies, 70s, 80s, older country standards and newer country standards.. Fun gig.
