One of my personal favorites and one of my influences. I also love that he was trained by Gene Krupa, one of my other favorites (Gene was a family friend of my grandparents and my parents). In my opinion, he is vastly underrated and always left out of discussion when it comes to great drummers. Listen to Black Diamond live; he's a fantastic rock singer.

Love his drumming on those early KISS albums...love to drum along. I think he gets a bad rap...cause of the KISS tag....but awesome player. Also, has a new book out..Got to get it!!

Peter was my first major influence. I can remember being like 4 or so and listening to kiss albums beating away on pans and boxes.

Kiss was realy special back then. And you never saw them wearing the skin tight white bellbottoms that were so popular back then! Lol
One of the coolest sounds on the planet in the 70's was Petes drum solo with a flanger on the drum mix.

If I could meet Peter today I'd probably hug him first then punch him in the nose for getting my hooked to the hopeless idea of rock stardom!

Not to be one resurrect an old thread, but being October and Breast Cancer Awareness month, I wanted to start a thread for him. I saw that one already existed, so I brought it back.

I met him about 2 years ago at a book signing & he told me about being a man with breast cancer. We all see the pink ribbon everywhere these days, but as a man with breast cancer, he has a special ribbon. It's still pink, but one of the tips are purple.

One of the unusual things I found with Pete's drumming was his jazz influence. When guys like Bonham & Moon or Carmine Appice, Bill Ward, etc were ruling rock with heavy hitting, Pete still kept an element of finesse with his drumming. It kept a different element to KISS' music.

Never being a fan of KISS, a neighbor of mine dragged me along to a concert many years ago..............I did not expect to like it.

However, I must confess, at the end of the night I did give a standing ovation to the pyro guy.

Paul Stanley seems to have nothing good to say about anybody even Eric Carr. Just bringing that up because there's audio clips of excerpts he reads from his "book" on youtube it's not too clear if he was roasting these guys or not. Calling Eric a schmuck is suppose to be funny i guess
