Your drums sure didn't sound like bushes to me.
Keep 'em coming Rick. That was cool.
Fantastic as always!!
I still have never been able to shake the "clock" that my body ran on for so many years. I am a night person.
Retirement is great. I actually retired at 54-55, but most have to be into their 60's to do so. I think 1 should be able to retire at 40, so you still have plenty of time to enjoy it.
Remember that the sound of drums are helped or hindered by room acoustics.
Mark, thunderstruck, it's always good to hear from the 2 of you.
I have never been a night person...9:00 and I turn into a pumpkin!
I will turn 58 Friday, but don't know when I'll be able to retire . I'll have pensions from 2 different places and I have the house paid off, so I should be getting close. I've been working on hobbies to see if I could make a little extra when I'm retired because I know I won't be able to sit around much. I prefer to be up and busy!
I do know that my drums sound different in my room than they did in the room of the guy I bought them from. I've been messing around trying to learn the mechanics of tuning to see what happens when i do what.
I love deep sounding toms, and mine are either too high or they sound flat when I tune them low. I have gotten some good info from Gilles that has really helped.
My room is 12x12 and is my office/library/music room. I have my electronic set and my acoustic set both in there and my computer/office stuff. One wall is solid bookcase and filled with books.
I've thought about putting some damping type stuff in there to absorb some of the sound to see if that helps.
My problem is I am too picky on what I want and don't have the expertice or
the experience to get it like i want!
I'm not picky about anything else in the world, except my drum sets.
Take care and seeya!

That comes with time. The more you mess with tuning, the more you learn.
I have no set tuning process. A couple of people on the forum have said that they like the sound of my drums. Which is nice to hear, but it will always be a personal preference.
Right now, outside of my snare and BD, all my toms, coated Evans G1's over Diplomats, are tuned to the same tension, both batter and reso. That particular tuning seems to work for the head combination.
Nice as usual. I always enjoy your videos and hearing you play.

Rick you are still smoking those drums. Exceptionally good technique. They should call this website: Retired people, that play the drums site. I also am retired.
