New Cymbal Day: Heartbeat Cymbals 24" Light Ride

A new metal circle showed up the other day!

I just received a 24" Heartbeat Custom Light Ride. It is essentially a gigantic crash cymbal, and it sounds as good as it looks. It's very thin, which makes it wash out very quickly if you play it with the tip. If you crash it, it just fills out with a very full bodied sound that doesn't decay too quickly (I have been running into that issue with the 22" sand ride, especially when recording. It just dies out so quickly which make the mix sound thin). I have never enjoyed rides with a very distinctive "ping" so this is going to make the perfect crash/ride for me. It seriously sounds so dang big.

My plan is to keep the 22" sand ride on the left to be primarily a crash and occasionally as a ride when I want a different sound, the 24" in the normal ride position, then my 20" medium crash on the right. When I play with only two cymbals, I'll probably just not use the 20" crash.

There is a very good chance that I'll be replacing the rest of my cymbals with cymbals from Heartbeat in the future as funds allow. My friend has a full series of their cymbals and they sound VERY nice.

I haven't gotten to use it in the studio or in a full band context yet, but I'm very excited to do so!

Looks killer! By the patterns on it, i'm guessing you can get multiple sounds depending on where you hit it?

Heartbeat seem like an interesting company. Some of the samples they have on their site sound pretty decent. Nice pickup though bro, any chance of a sound sample?

Heartbeat is pretty cool company that is slowly but surely gaining great credibility in the drumming world. I used to notice that they were really popular with Christian genre drummers. If you're familiar with the David Crowder Band, I know their drummer has been using them for a while. Anyway, that's a gorgeous cymbal. I have a couple cymbals from another upcoming cymbal company called Supernatural that their artist relations guy sent me. They look similar to yours and they are they are top quality.

Actually Heartbeat cymbals has been 'producing' cymbals for 10 years. Handcrafted in Turkey, imported to Canada with the "heartbeat' logo...

Canadian Based, no dealer network, must buy direct from them, and yes, seem to have a more Christian Rock following and artist support

I FINALLY got a real recording of this cymbal! The heartbeat is what is used on all the Choruses in this song.
