    Default Little Kids...

Every now and then we do a gig where there may be younger children around. Sometimes they are just amazed by the drums. Often I will invite the up and let them tap around on the kit.

Last night we played an event and had a two-and-a-half year old that began crying as they left because he wanted to stay and watch the drums.

I overheard this commotion then invited his mom to bring up and let him sit at the drums.

I snapped some pics and texted them to her then gave him a brand new pair of sticks.

Then this afternoon - I got the text message on the right.

That's awesome. I do the same thing and if you REALLY want to make a kids day, give them a set of used drum sticks from the night.

That's really cool! We play mostly bars so that doesn't happen to me, but my daughter sure loves to play.

Nice one Eddie! I just got back from doing a few songs at the "Hills Community Carols" (at a place called Kellyville), playing percussion/keyboards with Viktoria. Had a whole lot of kids going wild with our rocky rendition of "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer", lol. It's a wonder they didn't end up moshing to it, our guitarist said!

Fantastic!! I love stories like this.

    Mind if I share one?

I played at church for 9+ years. Every now and then kids (and adults) would come up to the stage and want to say hi or look at the instruments. Well our church has child care (within the church) but for over a year this one little boy would ALWAYS be on his grandpas shoulder for at least one song then stay for a second or third song then go into his room for the service. One day he came up to the stage with grandpa and shyly, like some kids, looked at me and handed me a piece of paper for my "autograph". A few weeks went by and I invited him onto the stage for a couple minutes. I then gave him a pair of drumsticks and you would have thought this child won the lottery.

I later received a picture and a message similar to the one you received.

Just fantastic. He still talks about it, three years later.
