    Post I've finally done it...

I think I've found my perfect cymbal set up. How do you guys think this would sound all together? I'm not a hard hitter I hit with good technique, And I play soft rock mostly, but I do play anywhere from blues/rock, The cymbal set up would be either

    Zildjian K hi hats 14"
    Zildjian K Hybrid 18" Crash
    Zildjian 11" or 9" K Hybrid splash
Zildjian K Custom session crash 18"
Zildjian A Custom Projection ride 20"

    Zildjian K hi hats 14"
    Sabian HHX Evolution 18" Crash
    Zildjian 11" or 9" K Hybrid splash
Zildjian K Custom session crash 18"
Zildjian A Custom Projection ride 20"

Would the K Hybrid 18" Crash be too loud to compare with the Session crash? Any input would be very much appreciated and would help me greatly. thanks and cheers guys and gals in advance.

Either one of those is a mighty fine line up. But it doesn't really matter what we think. Unfortunately (:D), you are just gonna have to go to the store and try them all. Bummer, I know :P

I don't think you could go wrong with either option since they are almost identical. I love mixing ACs, Ks, and KCHs...you get a nice mix of dark and bright.

Thanks guys. I might go with the K hybrid not the hhx evo, anyone played the K hybrid is it too loud compared to the session crash?

I love the KH line, but no I've never owned a session crash.

It's really about how hard you hit... not the cymbal itself. It's not like you are gonna be whackin' on a z3 or anything.

Yeah. I'm not a hard hitter anyway.

Either one of those should be a great set-up. Your best bet, if you can't try all of those locally, would be to test what you can and rely on videos for the rest. The MyCymbal ones are very nice and the sound quality is good so you'll be able to get an idea of the volumes of the cymbals, since they play each cymbal with a full kit as well.
