Yeah, some of my previous rides have had lower fairings and it makes a huge difference in wind protection. That's it..........I'm getting some.

I was lucky. There generally is a 30-60 day wait for "painted to match" lowers. However, for some reason it only took 2 weeks to get mine.
I rode to work today and it was in the mid 40's. The chill was nice and refreshing to fully wake up to and no frosty knee caps when arriving at my destination.
Have I mentioned I love my Harley?

I replaced the stock exhaust the first week I owned it. I went with Screaming Eagle Cannons. They are slip-ons that don't require a retune. They added a few HP to the mix as I found my throttle response improved immediately.
I don't care that much for additional speed as much as economy and comfort. The pipes were basically to get peoples attention that "refuse" to see motorcycles. If they can't see me at least they'll hear me coming.
On a side note, with the way my air cleaner cover is designed, you don't hear that hiss any longer. The shape is similar to a scoop / ram air system. The housing is ported only in the front so the intake is away from my hearing as much as can be. Now if I go for a different design like the cone shaped intake KnN system, that might be a completely different story. But that addition requires a tune and with all that taken into consideration, it'll tack on about another thousand dollars for the parts and the special tune. Not for me just yet.

How did I miss this one? If Brian Bosworth is in it, doesn't it just have to be good?
We have 3 motorcycles and we didn't start riding until we were 45 years old.
We have a 30 year edition Honda Goldwing 1800 GL that we travel on. The fartherest away from home we've been on it is 1500 miles all the way up in the four corners area of New Mexico, Colorado, and Arizona.
I also have an 800 Vulcan Classic which I truly love to putt around on.
My wife has a Yamaha 650 Vstar Custom with custom paint job. We are planning to seel it this year because she has decided she loves to ride on the back of the Goldwing better than riding her own.
Take care and seeya!

Nice bike MDK. Must have been a tough choice...............drums or bike.
Yeah, I have not been playing with a band or anything and really not playing much at all and do not feel I need a $3000 kit sitting in my basement collecting dust so I sold it to help with the bike purchase and still bought a nice 4pc Premier Elite which is all I really need. It was still very very tough to sell the Yamaha's though. The guy wanted to chat drums after we loaded it up in his van and I told him if he hung around much longer I may change my mind..: )

Put the cover on the bike yesterday. It's winter, officially.
Ahhh... the old shark-nose! Nice looking ride ya got there!
Don't ya hate it when that happens? I was without my bike for two weeks. I had a rotor shred on me in the primary case and I had to rebuild the whole thing. New Rotor and stator plus, I rebuilt the whole clutch basket. Total cost with my labor? About $600 bucks. I figure if I had taken it to the "stealership", they'd have taken an arm, a leg and G-d only knows what else they would have charged me!!
I also look at it this way... I'm really starting to understand how simple Harley's are to work on. They are engineered very simply, but well thought out. I got to know my bike really well this past weekend. Now, if I could only get the doggone clutch adjusted properly. I'm still fighting with it a bit. The clutch lever feels a little "spongy" to me. Oh well, I have all of the holiday week to get 'er figured out!!
