my teacher has got me started with a metronome. Doing quarter, 1/8, triplets and 16ths on double bass. He was trying to start me at 130 bpm. Had to slow it down quite a bit lol. Its slow going right now.

Once you get the hang of double-bass triplet patterns, it opens all kinds of new combinations............and they sound awesome if used sparingly........keep after it.

Have you been shown the RLL RLL triplet? That's a good way to strengthen the left foot, especially when practicing it with a metronome. Do it together with a RRR RRR triplet with the right hand.

I start slow and gradually increase tempo. It's boring but it works.

different permutations will make it less boring, as long as the accents are in the right place you will still have the same feel
