Congrats!!!
I hope you enjoyed it as much as the pictures seem to indicate.
Hey guys,
So my band Maiden May had out first gig last night (31st May) and it went off!! We played seven songs for a 45 minute set, crowd wasn’t massive, probably around 30 or 40 and they mostly just observed but hey, first show, gotta start somewhere. Unfortunately, I forgot my earplugs and it was rather loud on stage so my right ear is bit sore at the moment (won’t make that mistake again). We have another gig booked for the 28th of June at a music studio, that one is probably gonna be a lower key gig I’d imagine.
Anyway, here’s a couple photos:
Me behind the kit (obviously). The kit was a house kit, all bands had to provide cymbals, snare and pedals. I used my metal Rockstar snare, Sabian HHX hats + crashes and my Carmine Appice sig. ride (thought I’d bring out the top brass for the occasion, I’ll be using my not-so-high end set for most gigs). Pedal I used was a Dixon.
Full band shot. There were better photos of the whole band but I am currently writing this post late at night and there are 700+ photos that I can’t be stuffed going through at the moment lol. I’ll post more tomorrow or something.
Finally, I posted this in another thread, but here’s a link to a recording of the song we closed our set with last night. If you got a sec, give it a listen and tell me what you reckon, download it for free too if ya like it. I mixed this song too, so feel free to let me know how I did

Congrats! I like the song as well. I think you did a great job on drums. I don't get to play that style of music very often, but it sure is fun!

Play the SONG......not the DRUMS!!!
"I think that feeling is a lot more important than technique. It's all very well doing a triple paradiddle - but who's going to know you've done it? If you play technically you sound like everybody else. It's being original that counts." ~ John Bonham
Liked the song. Band sounds good and nice drumming.
Glad you had a good time on your first gig! I checked out the song, and really liked it. I don't think it will take long before you are playing before a lot more people.

Congrats on the gig! Not my style of music, but if you were local I'd still show up and hang out.
