This album was a real game-changer for me.........hard to believe it has been 50 years.
Nine months earlier, there were very strong hints of their new sound coming from The Yes Album; Steve Howe had been acquired.
But once Wakeman came into the fold, a miraculous new chemistry was taking place.
This new chemistry would (arguably) be the formula of the two best albums put out by the band.....Fragile and Close to the Edge.
Shortly thereafter, Bruford went his own way and Alan White would be the new drummer.
White did a great job (especially with Tales, Relayer, and Going for the One), but definitely a different chemistry that was never quite the same.
