Second location is a spare bedroom I turned into a music room. It's usually the home for the Gretsch USA Custom kit but I handed the room over to my son who now has his ekit and keyboard set up in it.

Beautiful rooms and great looking drumsets...wow!

Thanks Rich. It's a nice room. My daughter likes to go up there with me and bang on the drums and try to play my guitars. She has a few toys laying up there too.

My drums are currently residing in a rather small spare bedroom which is serving as jam room for now. Only staying in this house till Feb. The kit sounds quite good in this room, but it's really freaking hot and loud.

    Proudly playing:
    Doc Sweeney Drums
    A bunch of snares
    A bunch of cymbals

    Off-Set double pedals

I think I love to play the drums simply because you get to hit 'em!!!

In this picture they are at the end of my drum room facing in. Right behind is my mixer and amps for my PA system which are just to the left of the picture out of frame.

Here's a view from behind the kit. On the opposite end of the room you can see my TAMA Starclassic B/B kit set up and on the right side of this photo you can see the Gretsch Renouns stacked up. Both kits have been sold as of earlier this summer.

Thank you for noticing. If you are curious, there is an entire thread dedicated to having the room addition built. It's back about July of 2010 in Off Topic. Took 3 solid months from ground breaking until I could "stock" it.

What are you doing with the tunings for the two snares? I'm picturing low and fat on the Acro over to high and tight on the main snare.

Funny that you ask. So here is a rundown ...

The side snare is my TAMA Starphonic aluminum.
The main snare is my Mapex BP Maple.

I've tuned them separately and at different times: Starphonic about 2 years ago and the BP about 2 months ago.

Either my ears have totally lost it or I'm so good at tuning that they both sound so close to each other, you'd be hard pressed to tell them apart if you heard them with your eyes closed.

The only reason it's a side snare is because I don't have a case for it and figured why not? I have fun noodling with it and the rotos above it. Fun percussion section to say the least.

Ha! I mistook the Tama for an Acrolite. I use two side snares, but the sizes, 10x6 and 13x3, are way different than my main.

That is so cool to hear. Made my morning.
I was looking at my config the other day and just can't imagine going to a regular/traditional double pedal. These things just work perfectly for me.

Yeah they are perfect, I have 5 toms with the snare in the middle using the offset pedals. When you get use to them everything just falls into place with minimal upper body movement.

If I get offset pedals, I would definitely go for a mike mangini tom set up
