King Crimson was a really good band although I liked "In the Wake Of Poseidon" more. Their drummer, whose name escapes me, was superb.
At the same time, I preferred to listen to Renaissance, which, on the whole, I thought was a better band.
In my opinion, King Crimson is one of the best progressive rock bands of all time. The song "in the court of the Crimson King" sent chills down my spine. Progressive rock puts you in a different place when you close your eyes. What do you guys think of King Crimson?

King Crimson is one of those bands from the 70s that I absolutely adore on about half of their material. A lot of their compositions were somewhat experimental and the risk of failure was thus increased.............but those that did work, worked very well.
I really like the line-up with Bruford and Wetton...........Larks........Bible........and especially Red.
First drummer was Michael Giles.
I saw him in a clinic once and yes, you are correct, he was great.

I have to put KC in the same category that I do a lot of music that's out there...which is while I do not particularly like the music, I respect it in that it takes a LOT of talent and musicianship to play; therefore, I understand why so many people out there love their music, and I can't blame them.
