I have one for my floor tom but I haven't used it yet. I have a G+ which is 12 mil on my Starclassic snare. Sounds good.

I tried one (coated) some time ago on my snare. It last about 2 weeks until I replaced it with my tried and trusty Ambassador X.

The G14 made my snare sound like a box of pampers with a slinky attached to the bottom.

If you want no ring, then you'll probably like it.

Best of luck to you, either way.

I haven't tried them on toms, but I do not like them on snare drums. WAAAAAY too dry on a snare. That said, I love G+ or ambassador X coateds on snares.

Wow....................the most unique snare analogy I've heard!

I used G14's on my toms for around three months................then went back to G2's........................nothing wrong with the 14's, but I think I'm so used to hearing the G2's, they just sound "right"

thanks for the input so far! i've got my kit down to 2 toms just so i can try different head combos without breaking the bank. i'm using coated G2's right now and i want something with a little more sustain and a little less attack. idk if these will do that but i'm gonna find out haha. if i dont like them then i only bought 2 and won't feel too bad about just getting different ones.

Alright! so i got the heads monday and got them put on and tuned up, but then i was busy so i couldn't try them out until today. first off, i've never had clear heads on my kit before, and they just look awesome! second, they are pretty much exactly the sound i was looking for they are pretty loud, have a nice punchy (but not plasticky) attack, and quite a bit of sustain, but not as much as like a G1. they are the level 360 heads and they went on and tuned up super easy. i'm really loving how these heads sound! i'll post pics soon.
