    Amazing sound from a Ludwig lm402. How can I get this sound?

    buy a reverb unit...buy one of those drums, buy that drum head.....but it;s easier to make your own sound than to copy somebody else's...

    Do you have a lm402? Sounds like a pretty loose tuning. And a big open room/reverb

    When the snares are off, it sort of sounds like the reso head is muffled. I have a wood snare so It would be pretty hard getting that nice ringing

    I have Ludwig Supra Millenium and I love the sound I get from it. Its about finding your own sound. From your snare.Room, muffling, head tuning even how tight you have it in its stand plays a part in the sound.And the list goes on.
    So whats so wrong with laughing. Some need to learn to laugh

    I've gone years before I realized I had my own sound. It may sound like some or none but it doesn't matter, to me it's mine. I don't try to copy anyone.

    Even listening to recordings I've done back in the early nineties it seemed it was there but a little more tuned in these days. Doesn't matter if its metal or wood shells.

    The 6.5 always sounds much better than the 5.5 IMO
