As a professional teacher of the English language, a drum artist would be an artist who either uses drums as their medium, or makes art on drums.
People call me a musician, I tell them I'm very far away from calling myself that.
In our band, I'm known as the one who wears a cat shirt at gigs, "me make boom sound" and the craziest MF on the planet!
