I used to have a set of Amir's also.............I thought they were great cymbals. The only ones that weren't "professional" sounding were the hats......................wish I still had them

My main ride is a 21" Hand Hammered 'Groove' ride by Sabian. It has a wonderful raw bell and just the right amount of ping for me. Not too bright - a bit on the earthy side (which I prefer) , but still cuts through a mix very well.

I rely heavily on my Rock Ride...one of the best rides out there in my opinion. I also use a 22" UFIP ride that's been in my family forever.

I have a 20" B8pro power rock ride, it's a cheap cymbal and it was my first ride cymbal, but I am still in love with how dark it is and it has a nice sharp contrast on the bell that is perfect for accenting. I might buy a lighter ride later on, but I don't think I'll ever take this guy off my setup.

Before my first ride, i used a crash ride and was looking for an affordable heavy ride. I looked at the b8 20" rock ride and liked the bell and that it was crashable.

I've had a lot of different rides over the years, the one I've been using mainly since 2008 is a 22" Paiste 2oo2 Rock Bell Ride, discountinued model. It's almost uncrashable and has a bigger bell, so it is not everybodies cup of tea, but for me it's exactly what I need (I only play in metal bands at the moment). I'm thinking about adding a secondary ride, a 18" Paiste 2oo2 Big Bell Ride, but not sure if it is really necessary.
My second most favorite ride cymbal is probably a 21" Sabian HHX Dry, which I had for about a year. It was a bit too mellow sounding for my type of music, but I really loved the musicality of it, and if I hadn't been as much in favor of Paiste (I know it's stupid, but I just prefer to have the same brand of cymbals on my kit), I might have to get that one again sometime.

20" heavy saluda mist , 22" saluda decadence , 20" medium zildjian a custom , and a 20" Wuhan s ride. Love them all . The decadence is probably the best overall, while the mist has the best tight ping. The a custom another all around great ride and the Wuhan is nice for light playing and doubles as a crash.

    I have this chap:

21" HHX Dry Ride - the forerunner to the RBDR. Same cymbal, different spelling. Great bell, good stick definition and wash but the crashability is inhibited because it gets VERY loud!

Looks beautiful! I use the HH rbdr. Love it. How's the stick definition?

Stick definition is very good. Not too dry with just enough wash behind the attack of the stick. I use nylon tipped sticks which help to bring out the definition further.

Zildjian A 20" - great all-rounder. Stands out by not standing out and doing everything I ask of it.
Zildjian K 20" - same type of all-round cymbal just a little darker wash than the A. Interesting though that the ping is more defined with this one. Thought it would be the other way around.
Zildjian Kerope 20" - Amazing cymbal. Nice woody click and a warm wash. I actually use this one more as a crash but as a ride it's pretty darn good too. Quiet bell.

For the past oh......15 years or so I have relied on a 20" K Custom Dry Ride

I have been thinking about getting a "jazzier" ride, something like a 20-22" K Medium Ride or something with a few rivets as I would like an option of something with a little more swell and presence to fill in the rest of the sonic range where the "dry" of the Dry Ride purposely gets out of the way.....if that makes any sense to people......lol

Something that has decent stick definition but that I can possibly crash from time to time without sounding like clanking trashcan lid....
Know a little about a lot and a lot about a little......
