So recently I purchased a new Mapex Black Panther Sledge Hammer snare drum. Well I decided I should upgrade my super old snare drum case for the new snare. The old case was several series ago and I had troubles closing it. I literally had to keep spinning the snare around till I found the perfect spot.
The old case opened in half like a PacMan mouth.. the new case opens with a lid and is so much easier to use!
While I was at it, I also decided to upgrade my cymbal fault to the newest SKB Case. It awesome, molded inside for cymbal bell with sleeves instead of just felts inbetween each cymbal, also a small pocket for a key or anything else and the best part.... an expandable handle with wheels!
Here are some comparison shots
Old vs new
Collapse back shot of the cymbal fault... so awesome
and expanded for easy carrying. For those who don't know I have a bad left arm with a 25lb weight limit for life. This will make my job carrying this so much easier.
Did you look in the little pouch in the cymbal tote? One big honkin' drum key. Industrial strength at that.

Nice!! I got a 24" cymbal vault from SKB...so far so good:

Instead of starting a new thread I thought I'd just up date this one. So I had 3 series of SKB cases from old to new... here is after purchasing a new snare case and floor tom case
Finally I got all my rack toms into a new series case
But the smallest tom doesn't fit well. The PDP tom mount is so bulky it barely squeezing into the case and it warps the case form so it's not round lol But it fits. (Yes the head is loose I was retuning when I decided to try out the cases)
