I remember these coming out in the 1990s, but I don't know a lot about them. I have found videos of the mondo snare drums, but very little about this drum set.

    Anyone ever played one?

I sold one of these kits new when I used to work in a music store many years ago. It just seemed like the answer to a question that nobody had asked.

Nonetheless, I really admired what Remo did during those years with the "masonite" shell that they developed. They looked quite cheap, but sounded really good.

I'd really like to have a Mondo snare. I'm going to add a pedal to my cajon. Adding a mondo snare as well would really blur the lines between hand percussion and drumset, which is my intent.
