Funny story for you all... My daughter is 17 and sings at our local School of Rock. She just called me an hour ago and said:

"Dad, one of our drummers is home sick. Do you know Heart's 'Magic Man' and can you come fill in?"

What Dad can refuse his daughter, especially when it comes jamming some 80's rock together, so I went and it was a ton of fun.

Just wait Spazz. The best is yet to come.

Motivation for what? I know what I want I just don't know how I'm going to finance it. 3 kids and a wife cost money...

So decided to add the PDP mini timbales to the ol' kit...

Also extremely excited to try out these new beaters!!! Fully adjustable in weight and automatically adjusted to the head. Also come with 3 different beater head material options. I'll be using the plastic most likely as I like that punch in the face sound with my double bass.

So I finally got around to doing some work on my kit.

First thing I did was cut down one of the tubes to match the rest of my kit. (you know my OCD)
Used a pipe cutter for a nice clean cut

    Now it's all even again...

Yeah I've been dialing them in. It's really nice being able to control the weight for sure.

Those are the beaters for the MDD pedals are they not? In my lengthy quest to perfect my 9002's I used the set screw equipped steel weight rings they came with to perfect the feel. It took a while but at 66 yrs of age, my right foot is the best it's ever been thanks to those incredible pedals.
Can't say the same for the hands but I'm not sweating it. It's all for fun now. Very rare public drumming at this stage...
