    From the Crescent web site:

Crescent Cymbals Aquired by Sabian, Ltd.

Kennesaw, GA – Crescent / Sabian

Crescent Cymbals has been acquired by Sabian, Ltd. The sale became effective on January 31, 2015.

Outgoing Crescent CEO, Michael Vosbein adds, “While we are very proud of our numerous accomplishments, it was time to pass the reins to Sabian, who has the ability to bring the Crescent brand to new heights. Under our guidance, Sabian began hand crafting all Crescent cymbals in 2014, and has truly captured our sound and feel. Crescent Cymbals will continue to be completely hand crafted in Meductic, New Brunswick, bearing the name Crescent. The Crescent artist roster will remain in tact. All current models will be offered, including the popular Jeff Hamilton and Stanton Moore series.

Crescent is one of many great small brands. I really wish these brands would get more attention. Many times (IMO) the crescent, bosphorus, istanbul, and turkish brands sound better than your everyday zildjian or paiste or sabian. However, I think that some of the hand-hammering that meinl and sabian are doing is putting them close to the artisan brands.

I love Crescents. Especially when you wrap them around a hot dog. Pigs in a blanket ROCK.

    Play the SONG......not the DRUMS!!!

"I think that feeling is a lot more important than technique. It's all very well doing a triple paradiddle - but who's going to know you've done it? If you play technically you sound like everybody else. It's being original that counts." ~ John Bonham
