Default Buying Cymbals in Prague,Budapest or Vienna?

    Hello Guys.

My Name Is Ajit and I'm a drummer from India.
Sadly we don't have a great choice of cymbals available to us, or the cymbals after all the taxes being levied on them are quite pricey.
Because of this I have always picked up cymbals on my travels abroad to the US and Turkey in the past.

Over the Summer I'll be in Prague,Budapest and Vienna.I was wondering if anyone here could give me a lowdown on the availability of brands, music stores I should visit and pricing etc in all three cities.
Any kind of suggestions or tips would be much appreciated.
    Cheers.

I live in Prague, I can def help you out.

if you want to go used, there is a good website I can recommend:

    hudebnibazar.cz/bici-nastroje/190000/

I know you don't understand Czech, but people almost always write the model number and price (it's about 25 czech crowns to the US dollar right now). Otherwise, the word for drums in czech is "bici"and cymbal "cinel" or "cinely" for cymbals. for the type of cymbal czechs use the english words.

I can pm you the sites for new cymbals, there are only really 3 main stores in prague, they have a decent selection, but nothing spectacular.

I can also give you recommendations for the city, it's a great town, just let me know there a some open mics around if you want to jam!
    Yamaha DTX 500 module
Anatolian Kappadokia 14" Rock High Hats
    Sabian El Sabor 20" Ride
    Zildjian A 18" Crash Ride
    Istanbul Agop 16" Trash Hit
    1950's Zildjian 14" Splash/light crash
    Istanbul 8" Splash (pre 1997)
    Mapex Black Panther Steel Piccolo

    Hello jgziegler

Thank you so much for your suggestions.
I am coming to Prague end of may and was wondering if you could tell me what part of town would the shops you mentioned be in?

This way I can make it part of my itinerary.
I'd appreciate if you could send me the sites for new cymbals as well.

I shall remember 'bici' and 'cinely' when I go to the stores.
And I would love to jam.
So let me know when are where these open mics are.

Thank you so much for your help.
    Much appreciated.
    Cheers.
    Ajit.

honestly, there are only two i go to because the rest either dont have a great selection for drums or it's just really really out of the way.

your best bet is the store that has these gps coordinates: 50°05′05.5″ N 14°26′57.55″ E it's called bici.cz they are only drums. It's my local and they have a good selection of zildjians, not much else tho. they also don't have the best opening hours if you are busy during the work week.

otherwise, there is music city found at this addy: Ocelářská 937/39, 190 00 Praha 9 they have a better selection of cymbals but it's not the easiest place to get to but they do have pretty good opening hours.

neither of their sites are in english, but you now know enough czech to get by and the people in the shops should speak enough.

let me know if you want any other recommendations
