Gretsch USA & Zildjian(What Else Would I Ever Need ?)
I think Carl Palmer was the Atomic Rooster drummer (could be wrong..I'm not going to search it as that is kinda cheating)
Dave Clarke was the drummer and lead singer of the Dave Clarke 5
all the best...
I think that's splitting hairs for technicality. By the second drummer, they were the "Silver Beatles" and had the core of John, Paul, and Goerge; and they were definately "The Beatles" before Pete Best in any event (I think by the third drummer). Name change doesn't matter that much, IMHO.
Who was the drummer for Gino Vanelli?
During the summer of 1960, they were known as the Silver Beetles with drummer Tommy Moore. A couple others sat in for a gig or two during Moore's tenure but he was the regular. Moore left and Norman Chapman became the Silver Beetles drummer for 3 gigs before going into the army, and that's when Pete Best came on board in August of 1960. Shortly after, August 16, is the first recorded usage of the name the Beatles.
Obscure trivia side-note: Accounts have then Silver Beetles bassist Stu Sutcliffe coming up with shortening the name to Beetles (he left the group and the bass playing to McCartney in the summer of 1961) and Lennon added the "ea". Lennon's story about it coming to him in a dream was a joke he told in an interview and the story just stuck.
And now, thankfully, I'll shut up and turn this thread back over to its original purpose.

Which album and line up though? He's had guys like Graeme Lear, Casey Scheuerell, Vinnie Colauita, David Garibaldi, etc.
Lol....well, we'll go for Graeme Lear, as he was with Gino doing a few more albums than a lot of the guys coming in after him.
Orright, let's get back on track. Who was on the early XTC albums?
