    I have never heard this kit in person...only online clips, but from what I have heard the birch/walnut combination sounds fantastic!
    Congrats on the kit. Hopefully you can do a full review of the kit.

    On a whim, I swung by my local Mapex dealer the other day (just curious at what they had). Dang, the Armory series looks killer for the $$!!

    I think the Cherry Bomb seems interesting. Would like to play one.


    I still can't believe I got the Nomad and the Retro for about $300 each (new, from an authorized dealer).

    I have a Black Panther Birdseye Maple snare and it's sounds fantastic. Bought it used for less than $200. I can only imagine how well those snares at the top of this thread sound.

    I have a couple older Black Panther's (brass and maple) and they don't hold a candle to these two.

    Not that the old one's are bad, but these are better in every way (build quality and sound).

    When you also consider that I didn't pay any more for either of these than I did for those other's (10+ years ago)....
