Doesn't matter.
Both. One day you may want to play in a marching band. Sitting is better if you play pedals with your rudiments.
all the best...
I mix it up too, sometimes I stand, mostly I sit.
Haha mixing it up sounds like the best bet
Too much thinking going on here...just play the drums, pad, whatever.. one little thing isn't going to all of a sudden make you into some amazing drummer, practice will.
Sitting down mostly. Either way is fine.
I like standing because it helps me focus a little bit more on what I'm doing
Happy Drumming!

It's harder to tap your feet if you stand...I suppose you could "march" in place(ha-ha! Just kidding). I think standing encourages more arm movement while sitting makes for a better simulation of playing at a kit, as stated before. You can even rig up a single pedal to hit a chair leg as you sit for keeping time with the rudiments.

I sit till my butt falls asleep, than stand till it wakes up, then sit again.

No reason to get upset.............pretty sure Russ was just trying to help out................don't overthink it..............
The only reason, IMO, playing standing up would be preferred, is if you are going to play in a marching band, or anywhere it requires you to stand/march..................otherwise it doesn't really matter.
keep the beat goin' ... Don't keep it to yourself!

Honestly, I don't think it matters, but I say practice within your normal conditions. So when it comes time to perform, you're already in the zone.
