    Default Video synching

I'm sure many of you know the trials and tribulations of getting a drum cover you've recorded into a format worthy of being shown to others.

I myself have managed to get a decent enough cover together, but I wanted to have the actual song playing in the background. I did what any human with common sense would do, played the song through my headphones, and figured I would sync it up later. I was mistaken.

What is the easiest way to get these tracks synced together, keeping in my mind that I have:

    1. A mac
    2. $0 budget
    3. Almost infinite time to fiddle

As a great man once said:

Use iMovie to import the video, and then you can add the song, and adjust the volumes separately. It's not great, but with a $0 budget, it works. (I am a mac user with a $0 budget as well ).

Tried it. Video and audio from recording never sync up to the Master Track from my iTunes. Can't adjust the speed of the video finely enough to get it to work either.

Maybe you cant sinc it up because your playing is a bit off?

It's not me, it IS the video itself. I can say honestly that the one and only thing I have full confidence in is my time.

I checked the video over and over again, it's just about a second off by the end of the song. And checking throughout the song, it slowly falls off all the way through.

Barebones method with NO synching involved NO drum mics and NO audio mixer-

    Items Needed:

    1X-Video camera with camera mic
1X-CD playback source (i.e) your stereo with volume cranked up out of speakers but NOT louder than your drums.

    Directions:
Set up camera near drums and near CD/stereo speakers

1-Started recording on your video camera
2-Sit down at drums and have CD/stereo remote ready to press "Play"
    3-Hit play on CD/stereo
    4-Start playing the cover tune
5-stop recording on camera when CD/stereo playback is finished
6- take out recorded song from camera (i.e. SD flash card, memory stick)
7 -download video from camera into PC video editing software.
8- add title page from PC video program and save video file a AVI or WMV
9- upload to 3rd party hosting site
10- add link to DC by double clicking on the icon in the DC advanced option box with the sunglasses and paste URL link to post and hit "submit"
