    Default RIP Keith Moon, Sept. 7th

    I was born on Buddy Holly's birthday and will always remember hearing the news when Keith died on mine.

    Wow, that was 37 years ago since his passing. Sept 7 1978 at the age of 32 less than a month before his 33 birthday. He would be 69 today.

    +1. Moon sure was a big, big influence for me. Still get chills listening to the drumming on I Can See for Miles - it was so original!

    Moon sure was an interesting character. Very talented yes, but a bit of a screw-ball. One thing that always fascinated me about his playing was he rarely used hi-hats. His playing style didn't really require them.

    I agree with you Walt. His flams and accents were so hard to follow....check out the isolated drum tracks Olimpas posted:
