I have no plans on repainting it but been thinking about this floating floor type.

I have also seen some home DIY shows that actually put it on the wall as a focal point. Great stuff.

I suppose someone will ask if you could use it to wrap drums. The answer is no. It is too rigid.

Ok, last pics until Sunday. I have an acoustic gig on Friday night, and a huge full band gig on Saturday night. Saturday night could unlock all the large venues in town should we nail it!

Flooring done. But why didn't it go all the way to the wall?

The insurance policy. An 8' x 11'6" x 6" high platform to keep the equipment on giving me a buffer against another flood. All pressure treated 2x6 framing.

That is perfect and a great idea! Just don't let the bass player share it.

OK, so I have a few moments to post today.

I got a 12'x 10" area rug cheaply ($50) and covered the riser. Thoughts on sound/echo reduction turned to hanging a blanket to see what it would look like.

5 year old Olivia came downstairs beaming "you built me a stage"!. BING! The light came on. A trip to a few Thrift stores and I got some full length HEAVY blackout curtains:

Some black wire shelving and my snare storage/display is born:

Love the way the old Ludwigs look. It's like an upscale Jazz club straight out of the '60s. Very classy.

I re-purposed and refinished an old craftsman toolbox in burnt copper. Also note the new bass drum logo!
