I've read some reviews, rather mixed. Some feel it was too light weight. Thoughts ?

The B200 series is the range of hardware supplied with the Tornado budget kit. It is very lightweight, but to be fair it is similar to all entry level hardware supplied with low cost starter kits.

I would pass on this range and recommend you look at mid range cymbal stands. Unfortunately they are double the price of the entry level stuff but they are sturdy enough to hold heavy cymbals and use to hold toms if required. The good thing is they are generally very well made and will last a lifetime.

I'd check out used gear if you can. Medium to heavy stands can be found for $25 to $40 fairly easily around here at least.

Like others have said, I would also suggest looking at models higher up the range. It might be more expensive but, in the longer term, they should last you many years and be capable of holding heavier cymbals and other drums/percussion.
