Sad news on the face books today .. Brady has shut down . This the second time I have heard this .. It's a sad day for small boutique drum makers .

It's due to Chris Brady's failing health.

Let's hope he recovers his strength and continues his craft at whatever level he chooses.

seriously?! I dont own any of their snares but they are simply gorgeous!

Everything is top notch and top dollar.
It's a harder market to please.

It's not just Chris and he's health but also the diminishing returns from the USA market .. The struggle is real .. Chris personally has not made any snare's since the walkabout series . I have met the man at least 8 times and amazingly always remembers my name and my bands . I'm lucky to own a Brady and what was left at Megamusic is now scooped up . If you have a Brady keep it good cause they will be worth a packet now .

I always wondered if Chris himself made each snare - or if he had a small team that made them? I have a walkabout - I believe the last walkabout they did. It's a 12x7 York Gum. Here are my three Brady's that I absolutely LOVE playing 14x6.5 Jarrah block, 12x7 York Gum block, 12x7 Sheoak block:

I didn't get that from anything that I read.

It seems they are just trying to make sure that no one tries to infringe upon their patented gear and logo's since they AREN'T making drums. Did I miss something?

Great news! I hate to see the boutique drum builder's market shrink or disappear. Bill Detamore who started Pork Pie has his shop just a few blocks down from the DW HQ in Oxnard CA. It's amazes me that he can still compete with the "big boys".
