Default Spaz's Trick vs DW driveshaft comparison video

I bought the Trick drive shaft replacement for my DW pedal after another member posted a thread. Here is a quick "out of the box" comparison video I did. I will be playing this weekend and I'm excited to test this out first hand all night.

Nice , makes ya wonder how much better a trick pedal itself would be.

Thanks for posting that -- so far it looks like a big improvement.
My Tama SC has the dual locks like the Trick shaft but I do have one more question................

The outer sleeve of the extendable shaft.........is it steel or aluminum ?

The Tama outer sleeve is aluminum and it is easy to strip those screws out quickly..............I need to know you can tighten those things down right.

The Trick joints are clearly superior.............but what about the shaft itself ?

Thanks for the video, that was real informative. I'm considering getting one for double pedal.

Interesting. More interesting to see if there is a noticeable difference in playability. Certainly there should be a difference in durability.

Great video Spaz - you have a natural talent for explaining things very well. What a difference between the DW and Trick shafts!

Great Video Zack!! What's cool is we all know how particular you are about your equipment and how OCD you are and the fact that you would be willing to run a non DW piece on a DW pedal says alot.

The DW shaft runs U-joints where it appears the Trick shaft runs something more like a constant velocity (cv) joint similar to drive shafts in a front wheel drive car.

    Great review and very informative

TRICK upgrade drive shaft received from the carrier yesterday.

I immediately go into the drum room and install on the old Speed Cobra.
The weakest components of which are the springs and the drive shaft, which I have now replaced...........along with the stock beaters.

I pull back both beaters at the same angle and release...........clearly a difference in the freedom of the slave beater.

I played the kit for about 30 minutes with all the DB stuff I know.............this is truly an upgrade that can be easily felt in your playing.
Not inexpensive but neither was your double pedal.

Highly recommended for Tama and DW double pedals.
