Hi,
I have only ever dusted my drums, including the cymbals. And put a smidge of grease on my pedal.
I've got a mix of some decent and some crappy cymbals and the logos on one of the worse ones has spread onto the others.I would like to clean them, but don't want to lose the logos on the best ones
Help!
I am not sure what to use.
Bridie
I personally do the lime trick.
or vinegar.
Try a mild dish soap and warm water mix first. If you use Paiste cymbals, avoid any type of lemon or lime juice concoction as this strips the factory coating and leaves the surfaces splotchy. Ask me how I know!
Best of luck.

DW drums and Paiste cymbals.
^ouch never thought of that.
See I also don't like brilliant finished cymbals.
I should mention all my cymbals are non brilliant finish.
Lemon juice, vinegar and water, ketchup, catsup.... all are acidic. Too bad about the Bar Keeper's Friend. That stuff is magical!
Thanks I shall try the lemon trick
Whiskey works pretty good as well. Makes those unsightly finger prints and smudges almost vanish. Not sure how it would work if you applied it directly on the cymbal, however. I've only tried the oral application.....
(Only works if you're 21 or older, BTW)

"Too many crappy used drum stuff to list"
Play the SONG......not the DRUMS!!!
"I think that feeling is a lot more important than technique. It's all very well doing a triple paradiddle - but who's going to know you've done it? If you play technically you sound like everybody else. It's being original that counts." ~ John Bonham
