    Default Bass Drum Beaters (again)

I broke a beater yesterday while practicing a new song.
I was lucky to notice a snap ring floating up and down the beater shaft while playing.............otherwise if that head comes off, well, you know............shaft goes through the head.

I guess I can't complain................I bought a pair of Yamaha strap-drive single pedals in 1988 to use on an e-kit.
So..............the beaters are about 28 years old !!!

I decided to use these Yammy beaters in my Speed Cobra about a year ago and I have been much happier with these traditional medium felt beaters.

So I find the proper replacements today and order two new beaters ($50 for the pair - more than I expected) and I can keep the older one that isn't broken for an emergency part.

When you think about the punishment we put these through, 28 years is amazing.

And BTW, the Yammy pedals are still working perfectly (with some Gibralter beaters)............well made..............I use them on my DB Ludwig kit.

I also concur about the Yamaha beaters. I've put them on a lot of pedals and love the weight and feel of them.

Amazing those lasted you all these years!
