So here's my first draft setup... I will be changing this MULTIPLE times before I figure out what I want. (There are two drums not setup yet in these photos)

I'm really trying to avoid a traditional rack on this kit so that you see all of the beautiful drums vs bars.
But I do have an idea I'm super excited to try out this weekend when I spend a lot of time arranging the kit.

    "traditional rack"........................................oxymo ron ?

Kit looks better without a rack, IMO.
I have used a rack in the past but currently not feeling the love.

How do the factory heads sound ?

Yes the 8" is lower than the rest but I'm actually really loving it!
Makes me play like a standard 5 piece for the most part but if I want that extra high pitch I can. Sit out of the way and stealthy

    Duuuude! Love it!
The stealth style is the way to go for these beauties.
I actually like how you got the 8" tom to fit without pushing the hats over. Drummers are a creative problem solving bunch by nature it seems.
    Proudly playing:
    Doc Sweeney Drums
    A bunch of snares
    A bunch of cymbals

    Off-Set double pedals

I think I love to play the drums simply because you get to hit 'em!!!

yeah once I get it set in stone I'm actually going to cut the pipes to the best length as to get it as clean as possible!

And photos don't really show but that 8" is just in an awesome spot I have no complaints. I didn't want my 12" as far over as it is on my PDP kit. Sometimes I struggle with it. So I started with a standard 5 piece setup with two toms on top of the kick and found this solution which I love so far.

Beautiful. Kind of reminds me how NPYYZ would put the 8" right next to the snare. Like the toms were wrapping around the snare. Always looked like a blast to play.

exactly how I would expect a Pork Pie snare to sound. So crisp and snappy. This one is super sensitive and has such a slap in the face when needed. I'm extremely happy with my decision to do the 13x7 on this kit. The snap of the 13 yet the depth of the 7 is a deadly combination.

That is a killer drum kit! Love the sizes, the wood mix, satin finish, huge score bud.

And I thought Ricardo was only about 30 years old. Funny how without seeing pictures we get a pre-conceived notion of someone.

I recorded a video yesterday in the basement but didn't realize how bad 30 snare drums buzzing sound in the background hahaha
came up with a solution and today I'll redo it.

LOL ! My ride cymbal is 44 years old.

This weekend I played a one-hour set at a festival in the early afternoon..........broke down the kit and then drove to a club and set up for sound check @ 4PM.
Played two long sets starting at 9PM and got home about 1:45AM Sunday.
Slept most of the day yesterday because I'm not a youngster any more.
But here is the good part..............I can play better now than when I was thirty.

BTW, Sig...............that new kit you are building in the other thread looks like it will be gorgeous................would love to hear how they will sound.
Your shell construction threads are very cool.
