I have built a few 13X7 snares, 7 or 8 now I think, and they are a fantastic combination of depth, body and snap.

Hey Spaz, I found a Spaun Macassar Ebony 7x13 zebrawood stripe snare on line. . . . .quite pricey though.

Wow almost the exact same finish. I think it would look incredible with black hardware.

Looks like the same hoops and badge placements too.
    Badges and lugs are different.

Yup, that's my kinda playground! Total love.
    Proudly playing:
    Doc Sweeney Drums
    A bunch of snares
    A bunch of cymbals

    Off-Set double pedals

I think I love to play the drums simply because you get to hit 'em!!!

I saw a PP snare 13x7 in patina brass on YouTube. I fell in love with the aquamarine exterior. I went to the local music store to purchase. It was in stock, but not in the finish I wanted. It was more of a gray swirl. I bought it any way. After several days of looking at it, I regretted purchasing it.

I emailed Bill, and we worked out a swap. I sent him the gray snare, and in return he sent me a snare with the aquamarine finish that I wanted. It was an even swap. I payed only for shipping.

    That is great customer service!!!

Spaz, I've seen your Yamaha, your PDP and now your PorkPie. Where can I see your other kits? The Ludwig and the Sonor?

I'll take some photos and upload them for ya.
My Sonor is my official quiet practice kit. It's setup with mesh silence heads and L80 quiet cymbals.

My Ludwig is at my music studio that I teach at along with my cheap Orbitone.
But man that little Ludwig is so much fun to play on.

How do the mesh heads feel? Do they feel at all like real heads? Is there any rebound to them?

I actually made a video just the other week but the snare buzz was so bad I can't bare to post it. I was going to redo it and came down with a nasty cold this last week. So I promise I'll get something up shortly now that I also fixed all that snare buzz with the felt strips and received the final snare drum.

So the drum fairy made a trip to my house again....

x2 30" curved rack bars for my PDP kit which I'll finally convert to a double pedal
a used DW9002 Double bass pedal for my Sonor practice kit so now all I play on are matching 9000 pedals.
    x2 Short Gilbraltar Boom arms
    x1 Medium Gibraltar Boom arms
x1 Heavy duty Gibraltar Boom stand.

I was tired of taking my Pork Pie kit apart to make another small traveling kit because the tops of my cymbal stands were on the rack.
So here are the replacements and the poor bottoms just lying around...

And now I gained my cymbal stands back and my Pork Pie is set in stone... (that's not true I'll play with it more later haha)

Sorry the photo sucks but here's the new Gibraltar cymbal stand.
Holds both my 8" and 10" tom

and the side rack with all new Gibraltar booms

and here's my quiet practice Sonor kit with the new/used DW9002 pedal.
I know it sounds crazy but truly it was annoying having 4/5 different pedals on each kit and the feel being so different.
    Practice never felt right.
So now every kit at my house has the same pedals and basically the same feel to them.
