I like to have my ride as low as possible, usually right over the floor tom. 16" crash in front of the hihats, second crash 18" near the ride. I use two splashes on occasion and three chinas, depending on the genre I'm playing at the time.

Here's my favorite set up for 1 up 1 down: 1 crash, 1 ride and pair of hats:

@late, in the first pic, which is your primary crash, the 16 or 18, and which do you usually ride on more?

The primary in the first pic is the 16" crash and I wash ride the 18" next to the ride.

Amen, the Zildjian A customs I have are like that and I am insanely nuts about fingerprints on my cymbals. When I was gigging I wore gloves when I set up so they would stay clean.

Here's a little video from my FB page showing my cymbals

To the left, level with my tom, is a Sabian 16" HHX Evolution crash. Just above it towards the right, 16" AAX stage crash. On the right side, an 18" AAX stage crash and 18" AAX dark crash, 18" AA medium china, and a 20" AAX stage ride. Hats are usually 14" AAX stage hats.

It works really well for me. I only use those toms on a couple of songs so I want them out of the way for the rest of show.
