    Default NewGuy, but not New...

    Hey All:

After a 20 yr hiatus of being kit-less (I miss my Tamas), I am now the new owner of a TyPhoon TYDD-01 set. This is my first real experience with electronic kits, so any guidance or input is much appreciated at this end. I know the TyPhoons aren't particularly high-end, but for my own purposes they fit the bill.

Looking forward to connecting with all of you.

    Welcome to Drum Chat, cdnguy68.

Have fun, enjoy the forum, offer advice, learn what you can. Every one here is helpful and friendly.

Good luck with your electronics. They definitely have their niche.

I'm a TAMA fanatic so- good choice with owning that brand of acoustics, as well.

One small piece, don't get too stuck on doing midi things and whatever, when I first got my kit, I spent more time with the macbook trying to do stuff in garageband rather than playing...

does your kit measure your accuracy?

    Next step.

Get a cheap, off brand kit (under $100) and install inexpensive triggers ($10 ea) and mesh heads ($20 ea) so you can play a "real" sized E kit.
