Nothing like that around here that I'm aware of...
Last night here in town a few of the local celebrity musicians got together and had a tribute concert of the "Last Waltz" . The guy I play for , George Howard , was asked to be on the show along with the band . So we wound up doing two songs . "Mannish Boy" and "Caldonia" . It was at the historic Fox Theater here in town . Back stage they had a laptop and they had Googled the event and it turned out that there were many others with the same idea and there were tribute concerts like ours all over the country !

So I was wondering if anybody else here participated in one , or heard about one going on in your town ?
This was great fun . The musicianship was top notch . And it was a sold out house !

Frankly I was surprised at the turn out here . There had been 500 tickets sold before the concert and there was a line down the block . People were turned away ! And the audience was great . Just look at the video I posted . The encore song was Bob Dylan's "Like A Rolling Stone" and the whole place was singing along . That was awesome .
Well...seems like I was the only one then .
I would love it, but I live close enough to Nashville that it's mostly about Country music here.
