Default Blast beat lesson for the metal guys

I just made a quick blast beat lesson for YouTube and decided I'll put it up. It isn't JUST for metal guys, but I don't know where else I would play em. Working on blast beats is a good way to improve your singles though.

Personally I find myself playing way more grooves lately and less of this stuff, so I figured I'd make this while my body still lets me.. Speed and endurance go pretty quick if you don't maintain it.

I cover a few different types of blasts and a bit of stuff on how to build up some speed.

    I wish I could grow a beard....anyways,

    great finger/hand/stick control.
I use to work on blast beats until I snapped my arm in half.
Now I'll never be able to do them again.

    Awesome work and great video!

    HAHA... best response.

This is my first and probibly last attempt at growing a beard.. Patchy and red but I'll giver er a go. The wife hates it so it's days are numbered.

I have been working hard on finger control for a few months straight. I was 100% wrists for years and plateaued.. anything over 220 if you want to play extended periods you HAVE to use your fingers.. It has improved my playing all over though. I am hitting the toms better, and getting better sounds too.

I'll post this in the same thread to not clutter it up in here. I made this video yesterday as I keep having people asking me about hand speed all the time.

This is just a few of my warmups and practice, some tips about technique and whatnot.

The video is a bit long, but I didn't really spend a bunch of time editing. There is some good advice in here if your looking to speed up the hands a bit.

    Thanks for the replys.

Some of it is common knowledge but I watch videos all the time and often am reminded of something or pick up a few tips I didn't know.

The more we share the more we all learn. I have been getting into other styles alot lately and have been picking up a bunch of new skills I neglected.

Working on playing slow and dynamic are my new goals. Groove and pocket.
