Default Confused with many Types of Zildijan K series Hi Hats

    Hi all,

Just started looking into the Zildijan K series Hi Hats, but am confused at all the different sub versions of them around, for example K0944, K0926, K0911, etc. What are the major differences between all of these and more that may exist in this line?

Thanks for your input ahead of time

Are you sure those aren't just serial numbers?

    K0944 is custom dark
    K0926 is light
    K0911 is mastersound

I played the custom dark hats in high school very nice hi hats, they just had the tendency to create air pockets. At least once a show you would just start to hear quiet air thumps instead of chicks.

A stock keeping unit (SKU) is a product and service identification code for a store or product, often portrayed as a machine-readable bar code that helps track the item for inventory. A stock keeping unit (SKU) does not need to be assigned to physical products in inventory.

Looking around i found those are SKU numbers. I would just go by what is printed on the cymbal itself. Custom, Custom Dark etc...

I used to have the K Mastersounds, I played them for a few years but they were too heavy and I ended up selling them.

I have a set of the K Custom Darks that I got with a kit I bought. Overall, they are good hats but they are also a touch heavy for my taste.

IMHO, the Custom A's are the best for all around playing.
