Default A New Beginning 2, too, with a twist

    Like Richardo, like the Bish

Drought or flood? Drummer timing or lack of?

Currently I'm between projects since the casino band got lost on itself.

This week two interesting events occurred,

My former bassist and guitarist from the 80's have approached me about a new project. We've kept in touch all these years but live an hour away so not easy to just hang out. These are my two music brothers if ever there was such at thing. The chemistry and playing to and for each other was in that complex combo of characters. They showed up Friday night with gear to do a sound check. None of us have rehearsed anything in forever and just busted into Just Got Paid by Joe Bananamosa since we all were familiar with it and heheh we still got it. We also have a keyboardist singer joining this melee in another week, which is the twist because again not new but one we all played with back in the 80's.

On almost the same day, I heard from the singer of our "dissolved" casino band wanting to revive that as well.

Both entities want to rehearse at my place. I don't really want to do the casino thing with the casino band since their collection of sings is really dated. But the band is established and it won't take long to get off the ground.

The blast from the past group wants to do more current and higher quality material more in mind with what I want as well.

The casino band wants to continue status quo and to me it's plain and safe. Bleh. They want to set a first rehearsal for mid June. I'm hoping this New/Old band will come together faster so I can tell the other one not to bother. Kinda like running two horses in the Kentucky Derby, hoping for one to finish ahead of the other.

Or I'll be stuck in two bands for a short time. Vids may follow for either or both or not at all. LOL.

Just to give an example of the conflict of song choices between bands. Which would you rather do?

Johnny be Good or Boys of Summer?

    When it rains, it pours.
I don't want to be stuck in two bands at one time.
On the other hand, if we have an agreement, there are no longer any good venues around here that I like to play.
    Gretsch USA & Zildjian
(What Else Would I Ever Need ?)

Bish, I know the feeling. My bud , for like 50 years, and I stopped playing together in 1982. After that he played in country bands. When he suggests a song it's at least 40 years old.I am trying to get us playing songs that I personally like whatever the genre or age. We're getting there. Oh,to answer your question...Boys Of Summer.

He just called me and said why don't I learn the words to All Right Now because he just worked out the guitar parts. Sheesh. When I suggest a song it's one I think I can sing.

I think you just sang the entire song by stating the title. Tell him you'll be ready when you learn the snare riff in the middle.
