I work at a music store. I have done it. It works you just flip everything from Right to left instead of left to right.
It's just a mirrored image.
Will the cords work going left?

Yes. Most of them are all the same size. There are usually some (kick drum and HH pedals) that are longer.
If you buy it assembled, off the floor, take it all apart and remove all cables. Put it together in a way that is comfortable for you to play. Run cables accordingly. Also, run your longest cables first, so you don't end up using one when you don't need one and then needing one and not have one left.
Whenever I would re-design my electric kit, I would start with 2 pieces... the brain and the pad/trigger that was going to be located the farthest away from it. This way I knew that I was "safe" for the rest of the build.

I set my kit up Left handed once. When I played Black Dog, I heard "Bonzo is dead, Bonzo is dead..." resonating from the toms. I set it back up the right way and never tried it again.

"Too many crappy used drum stuff to list"
Play the SONG......not the DRUMS!!!
"I think that feeling is a lot more important than technique. It's all very well doing a triple paradiddle - but who's going to know you've done it? If you play technically you sound like everybody else. It's being original that counts." ~ John Bonham
Yes all on all but those cheap nasty ones that are mounted to 1 pole with the kick on the right and the hats on the left , any decent e kit will be able to be swapped

Anytime we get past which heads to use or which sticks, we seem to go straight to rocket science.
Someone goes to the blackboard and starts with equations that make Einsteins stuff look like Dick and Jane.
THAT WAS SARCASM!!!!!!!!!
