First gig with the new band, sort of.
This past Saturday, my new band played its first gig. The few weeks leading up to the gig have been chaotic to say the least. We added a second guitarist a few months ago and he's only been able to come to practice every other week. Our bass player had to take a leave of absence due to health issues so we brought on a long term fill in. One of our lead singers couldn't make the gig because of a trip she couldn't reschedule, so we had to replace about a dozen songs in the set that she sings lead on. In addition, the app we use to manage our setlists with on our tablets started acting flakey, and we were using a board we have never used before as well as several other pieces of gear for the first time.
Despite having only ONE practice with the entire line up present, we managed to get through the gig with only a few minor flubs. There were some sound issues as well, some feedback and excessive stage volume. But we received many compliments and I was happy to get this one under our belt. It will only get better from here...
