For those of you that like a challenge, check out this advanced poly-rhythmic drum pattern by one of the best drummers in the business. You'll need a 17 piece kit to pull this off.

I saw this a couple years ago. Absolutely love it. Sometimes these guys take the drum videos way too seriously.

But then we end with a James Brown funk type of thing and a wash of cymbals.

Ok, HELP, I need someone to pull the hook out of my mouth. I watched up til 2:22 hoping to learn something and then I realized who it was.

Fred Armisen is quite an accomplished drummer. He toured with Blue Man Group before becoming a regular on Saturday Night Live.

I didn't recognize him. Thank goodness it wasn't serious. It just sounded like gibberish to me...I was worried that I was so bad I couldn't comprehend it. Like improv Jazz...

    Play the SONG......not the DRUMS!!!

"I think that feeling is a lot more important than technique. It's all very well doing a triple paradiddle - but who's going to know you've done it? If you play technically you sound like everybody else. It's being original that counts." ~ John Bonham
